February 14th Open Circle Luncheon

Main Street students celebrated Valentine’s Day and “Hat Day” on Wednesday, February 14th.  We had an Open Circle Luncheon with a theme of feelings where students were honored for recognizing the feelings of others.  For a small monetary donation, students and staff were encouraged to wear a hat to school.  The money collected will be donated to the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce and their children’s Chamber Fund in order to purchase warm clothing and blankets for area children and families.  Thank you for encouraging your children to participate in this event and helping support such an important event.  Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

Open Circle Luncheon - January 31, 2018

“Feelings” was the theme of our Open Circle Luncheon on Wednesday, January 31st.  Students pictured here were honored for their ability to recognize the feelings of others.  We highlighted the book How Are You Peeling? by J. Elffers and Saxton Freymann because it talks about different types of feelings using the faces of vegetables and fruits with moods.  Students are encouraged to recognize the their own feelings and express those feeling  in safe and healthy ways using words.

10-4-17 Open Circle Luncheon

Main Street School has partnered with the local NHSPCA in Stratham to raise funds for animals who were displaced by the recent hurricanes in Texas and Florida.  “Pennies For Paws” is a way for students at Main Street to learn about how we can cooperate with a local community organization to help animals in need.  These funds will be used to buy food and supplies for the recent influx of animals at the shelter.  Students pictured above were recognized during our most recent Open Circle Luncheon for their outstanding cooperation skills.  The well known characters of Frog and Toad joined us for lunch on this day because they are always working hard to cooperate and solve problems.

Congratulations to the students pictured here for being recognized at an Open Circle Luncheon for demonstrating their problem solving skills!  The Exeter Fire Department visited Main Street School second graders to celebrate all of their reading they have completed during the month of March for the Stop, Drop, and Read Program.  This is an annual program sponsored by the Exeter Fire Department to encourage a lifelong love of reading.  Congratulations to all second grade students who participated in the program, and a BIG thank you to the Exeter Fire Department, especially firefighter Matt Greene, for continuing to support our students!
